Dean of Education
Blue Mountain Christian University seeks applications and nominations for the Dean of Education beginning January 2025. The School of Education employs 4 FT faculty in addition to several adjunct faculty. Four programs are offered by the School of Education including the Bachelor of Science in Education, the Bachelor of Music Education, and the Master of Education Degrees in Elementary Education K-6, Literacy/Reading K-12, and Secondary Education - Biology.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities for the Dean of Education are to have ultimate oversight of and accountability for administrative aspects of the operation of the School of Education, to represent the school and serve as its liaison with other administrative units within the University, and to provide leadership for the School in formulating long-range plans and assessment procedures based on a shared vision on the goals of the School. Responsibilities also include monitoring Mississippi Department of Education requirements for state approval of the BMCU teacher education program; leading CAEP accreditation for the School of Education; monitoring graduate student academic progress and communication with graduate students in academic jeopardy; communicating with graduate advisors; monitoring admission of graduate students; and coordinating graduate student orientation.
Qualifications: Earned doctorate in Education or related field (ABD considered), prior classroom teaching in elementary and/or middle school grades. Candidate must possess credentials in Literacy/Reading and in Elementary Education. Preferred: Prior teaching in a graduate degree program in Education.

Head Women's Soccer Coach
POSITION SUMMARY: The Head Women’s Soccer Coach shall be responsible for directing, supervising, and fundraising the Women’s Soccer program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Assist with the development of the soccer complex and assist with other athletic events.
• Establish and maintain a good relationship with high schools in the district.
• Recruit quality athletes who are an asset to the institution, on the field, in the classroom and in the community.
• Maintain ethical standards in the soccer program to promote a positive image of the College throughout the district, state and nation.
• Ensure academic progress of athletes.
• Strictly adhere to NAIA and Southern States Athletic Conference rules and regulations.
• Ensure proper conduct by athletes on campus, on the soccer field and at College functions.
• Maintain a competitive soccer program at Blue Mountain Christian University;
• Work cooperatively with the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, use and care of facilities, and the utilization of personnel.
• Attend the appropriate University meetings and cooperate with other campus units as needed.
• Follow proper procedures in purchasing equipment.
• Maintain an inventory of all athletic equipment in the soccer program.
• Maintain all equipment in the soccer program.
• Developing and maintaining the soccer complex.
• Assists with the preparation of the Media Guide Program.
• Coordinate summer soccer camps for girls
• Assist, as requested by the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, with other athletic events.
• Assist with recruiting, admissions materials, playnaia, etc. as requested by the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics.
• Any other assignments made by the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics.
• Any other assignments made by the President of the University.
• Work cooperatively with the Athletic Director in all areas of the women’s soccer program and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.
• Lives a lifestyle congruent with the mission of the university both on and off campus.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Baccalaureate required; Master’s degree preferred• Experience and evidence of successful coaching of soccer
• Understanding of the role of the Intercollegiate Athletic Program in a Christian College
• Excellent oral and communication skills
• Motivator and role model for student athletes
• Understanding of, adherence to, and enforcement of safety procedures
• Fostering of a cooperative environment
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as required
• Ability to travel
• Valid commercial driver license with good driving record; must be insurable
